     John R. Hanover graduated from Michigan State University in 1968 and worked full-time at Hanover Animal Hospital until 1989 when he opened The Animal Hospital of Gurnee.  Along with being past president of the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association, he has held other varying positions in the CVMA, Illinois State VMA, and American VMA.

     John J. Hanover received his degree from the University of Illinois School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991.  He is certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS), and the Chi Institute of Veterinary Chiropractic Association (in animal chiropractics).

     Dr. Hanover is also trained in Homotoxicology, Applied Kinesiology, western herbs, essential oils, flower essences, and Reiki.  He has lectured at Harper College, McHenry County College, the Amazon Herb Conference, the Chicago Pet Expo, the Mind-Body Spirit Expo and other select organizations.
     Dr. Elton Rogers has had a life-long interest, respect, and love for nature that was nurtured in his boyhood home in Birmingham, AL..  He attended Auburn University of Veterinary Medicine and was  the senior student in charge of the Southeastern Raptor Rehabilitation Program.  After graduating from Auburn, Dr. Rogers accepted a position as associate veterinarian at Howell Branch Animal Hospital in Winter Park, FL. where he utilized his skills in small animal medicine and surgery.

     In 1986, Elton married Mary Beth and the couple resided in Memphis, TN. until 1993 when they moved to Lake County IL..  In 2005, Dr. Rogers joined the Animal Hospital of Gurnee and has enjoyed working as an associate veterinarian with Dr. John R. Hanover.

     In Addition to his interest in veterinary medicine, Dr. Rogers enjoys nature photography and spends much of his free time looking for wildlife images while hiking with his German Shepherd companion, Ally.  He also enjoys learning animal behavior and believes that a fundamental understanding of behavior enables veterinarians and clinic technicians to handle patients with less stress.
     Katarzyna (Katie) Dymek moved to the USA from Poland in 1997.  She graduated with distinction from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Molecular and Integrative Physiology.  Having completed her clinical year at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine she then received her DVM degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.  During her education at Purdue, she pursued small animal externship at Animal Emergency Referral Center (AERC) in Northbrook, IL. and equine externship at Wisconsin Equine Clinic, Oconomowoc, WI.. She then spent 12 months at AERC in Northbrook where she interned and learned from specialists in internal medicine, critical care, cardiology, radiology, surgery, and neurology.  Her interests included internal medicine, dermatology, and critical care.   Dr. Dymek strives to educate clients in animal care and maintenance.

     Dr. Dymek lives in Wadsworth with her husband, Kevin Looby, Maria (German Shepherd), 3 cats and 4 horses.  When she is not working at the clinic, Dr. Dymek rides/trains her horses in dressage and jumping, works out, and attends wine tastings.  She also enjoys Latino music and dancing.  Dr. Dymek was a working student at Lipica Stud Farm in Slovenia, Hubertus Stables in Germany, and Temple Farms in Wadsworth, IL., where she received her training in dressage with some of the best riders and trainers.  She and her husband are also active members of Old Mill Creek Hunt.
